MICROPAS 45L Tax Credit Software
Raters use CHEERS 45L tax credit services to verify a project or a set of plans meets the stringent energy efficiency requirements of the $2,000 Section 45L tax credit. CHEERS 45L utilizes MICROPAS v7.60, a U.S Department of Energy Approved 45L software.
MICROPAS 45L software is developed by Enercomp, Inc. and has been used by national builders throughout the country since the inception of the 45L Tax Credit in 2006.
MICROPAS v7.60 is an update to the IRS approved versions v7.3 and v7.4. MICROPAS v7.60 conforms to the 45L requirements outlined in IRS Notice 2008-35 Sections 5.02 and satisfies all tests required to conform to the 45L software accreditation process prescribed in RESNET's Procedures for Certifying Residential Energy Efficiency Tax Credits publications.
Since 1983, versions of MICROPAS have been continually reviewed and approved by the California Energy Commission to show project compliance with California Energy Code (Title 24). From 1983 to 2013, MICROPAS was California’s most widely used energy compliance software for the California residential market. In 2013, Ken became a lead residential modeling consultant to the California Energy Commission in the development of the California Building Energy Code Compliance (CBECC) software, which is the current building energy simulation engine for California Title 24, Part 6 (CA Energy Code).
